Can you tell where this Kalmar reach stacker is resting for the night? You can click the image to get a better look at it. The buildings on the other side of the river are a pretty good hint. You won’t see buildings like that in many other places.
If you guessed Paris, then you’re right! This reach stacker is used on the banks of the Seine river to unload containers that come in on barges. It’s a lot easier to get shipping containers into Paris when you don’t have to drive them through the narrow city streets. This container handler can reach right out to the boats, pull of a container and safely place it on land. It’s pretty cool seeing it being used right in the middle of Paris where there is very little industry.
